A Spell for Living
Melissa Mitcheson
Follow me down...
Melissa Mitcheson’s debut collection of eight bewildering and uncanny short tales is a true one of a kind. A child hides from their mother in a cavernous old tree, mischievous ornamental angels play tricks on their beholders, a fox shares its heartbreaking woodland secrets, a general’s pregnant wife watches on as the sea destroys an army, a labyrinthine fairground withholds the keys to a family mystery; A Spell For Living is a whole planet apart…
“These stories are spells, and the unsettling strangeness and beauty of their magic is a mysterious delight…”
Jeff Young, author of Latchkey, and Ghost Town
